Maximizing your Floral Budget
It’s a question that crosses most people’s minds when considering florals for their wedding- how can I get the most out of my budget? How do I get the most impact from florals without compromising? Here are some options that can work to extend that floral budget from constricted to containing the florals of your dreams!
Consider your wedding party-
One area that consumes budget quickly are the personal flowers that you purchase for your wedding party. It adds up quicker than you’d think! One option to consider is foregoing boutonnieres and corsages for your wedding party and family members. (doing this adds to a sleek, clean look) Also, consider the size of your wedding party; having 9 bridesmaids bouquets is most definitely pricier than having 3! This choice alone could free up hundreds of dollars to allocate towards the floral focal points that really define the feel of the wedding day.
Repurpose pieces from ceremony to reception-
Floral decor can seamlessly transition from your wedding ceremony to your reception, bringing that cohesion you want through your wedding day. For the ceremony, consider lush floral arrangements at the altar and along the aisle. After the ceremony, repurpose these arrangements by moving them to key reception spots such as guest tables, the head table, or around the dance floor. For example, large altar arrangements can become elevated centerpieces, while smaller aisle markers can be placed directly on guest tables. This not only helps reduce waste but also can free up some of your budget to allocate towards pieces that can’t easily be repurposed- such as a hanging installation.
Limit Florals in low-visibility areas-
It can be tempting to go all out with your floral decor when you want a real impact, but focusing floral decor in high visibility and traffic areas that you and your guests will enjoy most definitely makes a difference! Skip the florals on cocktail tables if your guests are only going to spend an hour mingling in the space, and allocate that budget towards the highest impact areas such as your head or sweetheart table, and your ceremony focal pieces!
Rent instead of Buy-
When it comes to containers and other decor items that a florist can provide, it’s usually a great budget move to rent directly from your florist instead of buying new. Most florists will have a great selection of candles, holders, hurricanes, votives, and chimneys to make your softly-lit tablescape dreams come true. This not only reduces costs but also reduces waste. We love maximizing floral budgets, and when it comes along with reducing waste, we love it even more!
